Biography:

Hi everyone! My name is Leslie Marquez and my pronouns are she/hers. I am a 4th year, CRES & Legal Studies double major with a minor in Education. I am from the Los Angeles area, specifically the San Fernando Valley! I come from immigrant parents who are from Durango and Zacatecas, MX. Much of my upbringing was spent traveling to different regions of Mexico and where my family grew up. This has been a huge factor for me to embrace my culture and identity as a Mexicana/Chicana woman in higher education. I am passionate about giving back to my community and creating community through the power of creative expression. I wanted to be a part of the Student Union Assembly to be a part of the action to create more opportunities, change, and build community for underrepresented communities and identities.
