About Yourself: 

Hello friends! My name is Sierra Berg and I am a third year student from the East Bay. I am incredibly passionate about education and educational policy, on both the college level and the K-12 level. I am still figuring out where I'll go after my undergraduate, but I definitely know that I want to be working with students and advocating for equitable education. On campus, I am also a campus tour guide and mentor, as well as a writing tutor.

 

Past Involvement:

  • 2017-18: Outreach Coordinator for the VPAA
  • 2018-19: Chief of Staff for the VPAA

Office Initiatives:

  • Increased Outreach and Resources for Historically Marginalized Groups on Campus
    • Students of Color, Students with Disabilities, LGBTQ+ Students, etc
  • Continued Work in Textbook Affordability
    • Used Textbook Library on Campus, School Supply Drives 
  • Mental Health Related to Academics
    • Stress Reduction Events, Time Management Workshops, etc

 

Fun Facts about yourself:

  • I love to backpack and hike whenever I have the time (My last backpacking trip was through Yosemite and I finally got to hike Half Dome!)
  • Giraffes are my favorite animal in the whole world, and it's not just because I'm tall
  • My favorite author is Maya Angelou
  • I have always dreamed of being a florist
