Frida Salgado
Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
Year: Third Year
College: Crown
Major: Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology
Hi! My name is Frida Salgado (she/her/hers) and I am a third year Crown affiliate majoring in MCD Biology. Last year, while experiencing the struggles of affording groceries on a low budget, I became involved with the SUA Food Pantry. I began as a shift lead when the pantry first opened, and became Pantry Manager last winter quarter. Through this program, and being involved in conferences like Dig In, I have witnessed the positive impact that the Food Pantry has on both the on-campus and off-campus UCSC communities. In the next year, I hope to provide one of the essential basic needs for more students by: improving outreach, working with other on-campus resources, cooperating with staff, and destigmatizing conversations about food insecurity.
