About the SUA
The Student Union Assembly (SUA) is the official student government body at UC Santa Cruz. First created in 1985, the SUA was the product of the growing desire amongst students for an umbrella establishment to organize and help sustain all the various campus groups. The SUA has since grown in scale, and its current officers and voting members all represent a broad cross-section of the university population.
The SUA is entirely student-funded and student-run, and deals directly with student concerns - both those that relate directly to SC students (such as student fees, campus labor issues, and matters of academic integrity), and those that affect students on a statewide level (including budget cuts, voter registration, and accessibility to higher education). The SUA also funds student events, holds political rallies, establishes coalitions with other campus entities and the school administration, and facilitates student internship and activist opportunities.
Meetings are held every Tuesday at 6 p.m.
in the Bay Tree Conference Center (Cervantez and Velasquez - Room D), located
on the third floor of the Bay Tree Building in the Quarry Plaza.
