Financial Aid

If you are a student who has a question or complaint about financial aid campus policies or procedures, the Student Advocate’s Office can help address your grievance.

    About the Financial Aid Branch

  • The Financial Aid Branch provides guidance and support for students experiencing financial issues with the university. Our services include confidential assistance in filing for and appealing decisions related to financial aid and understanding UC financial aid policy. Our casework services include:

    • Explaining Financial Aid Campus Policies
    • Reviewing statements and communications between student and administration
    • Preparation and assistance when applying for Appeals
    • Managing deadlines and gathering information for your appeal or fiancial aid package
    • Explaining Outside Scholarship Procedures and Policies
    • Referrals to the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office and external resources

    We additionally assist students with any disbutes or communications with the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office. For more information or to open a case, contact the Student Advocate's Office at suasao@ucsc.edu.

  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid

    You may complete the FAFSA for the 2020-2021 academic year any time between October 1, 2019 and May 1, 2020 for priority consideration. However, you can apply for the FAFSA any time for the 2020-2021 academic year up until June 30, 2021.

     

    ***For the 2019-2020 academic year: If you are interested in filling a FAFSA for the 2019-2020 academic year, you can still file up until June 30, 2020.***
