Campus Earth Summit: First launched in 2002, the Campus Earth summit is a forum for students, staff, faculty, administration, and the larger Santa Cruz community to work together to create the Blueprint for a Sustainable Campus. The Campus Sustainability Council has been the main sponsor for this event since conception. At the Summit, we engage in productive dialogue about tangible ways that sustainability can be incorporated into every aspect of campus life. This year, the Campus Earth Summit featured an analysis and discussion of Climate Change issues and local action opportunities. The event was in collaboration with Focus the Nation, a national climate change teach-in that happened simultaneously in over 1,800 Colleges and Universities. Climate Change was the over-arching theme, spurring conversation in other related areas. |
